I am a passionate fiber artist who began creating my own intricate cloth over a decade ago. I delight in working with colorful dyes and surface design techniques to create compelling cloth that is rich in color, texture, line, movement and pattern. I begin each new journey with a blank piece of subtle cloth that I am able to transform forever with dyes using traditional and innovative manipulative techniques such as shibori; printing: screen,
thermofax, and mono; resists; discharge; photography; paints and foil. Although some planning and sketching is usually involved in my artwork, I ultimately work intuitively and spontaneously as the seductive magic of the processes unfolds and I build layer upon layer until I am satisfied. My creative process is greatly influenced

by the natural world around me and globally by the textiles, artifacts and art techniques of Africa, Japan , Indonesia and most recently, South America where I was able to experience and photograph Bogota,Colombia and the Amazon! My latest series explores the contrast yet harmony between these two diverse regions. I sometimes encorporate my other passion of photography into my work. I’ve had giclees on canvas made to portray details of my final art cloth
and also of the photographs I take where I live and travel, particularly California and South America where my 3 sons live. My intention is to create art to fulfill my own soul and to share with the community through exhibitions, teaching, memberships, sales, and private/ corporate commissions. While creating art cloth, art quilts, wearables and photographs, I strive for the moon and catch many stars along the journey!…
